WISDOM
FOR NEW BEGINNINGS
“In
the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form
and void and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God...” –
Genesis
1:1-2 (NKJV)
Everything, whether spiritual or physical,
has a beginning. Every history or story has a background. Anything that does
not have a genesis or history cannot be trusted. Knowing the beginning of a
thing helps you to appreciate its antecedence and essence. The essence of a
story can only be known from either the words or deeds of its creator or both.
The Heavens and the earth have a beginning
and a creator-God. Only foolishness or madness will compel a person to conclude
that the heavens and the earth are a product of the so-called evolution. If the history of iPhone can only be traceable
to minds like Michael Mitas, Nitin K. Ganatra and Steve Jobs, then it is sheer
foolishness to disconnect the beginning of the heavens, earth and humankind
from a personality called God. Everything in life including the totality of the
heavens, earth and you owe their beginning and existence from Him. We can therefore
learn a lot of wisdom from how God began the universe and everything connected
with it. Everything, whether visible or invisible, began with God. He began and
engineered all things by the power of creativity. Creativity is a great problem
solver.
The first wisdom lesson from the account
of creation (Genesis 1-2) is that God in the beginning gave a balanced
attention to both the spiritual (heavens) and physical (earth) life and thus
made room for both. This means that we must give equal or equitable
consideration to both the spiritual and physical aspect of anything we do or
want to do. Besides, He deployed both spiritual and physical resources to engineer
everything He created. In addition, God did not just create things; He created
them with the end in mind. God didn’t play time nor embarked on an exercise in futility.
He had a purpose for creating all things. Everything He has created have both
spiritual and physical significance. Lastly, He evaluated all that He created and
transformed them, where necessary. Always begin with God and learn from Him.
