WEEKLY WISDOM SERIES 6

WEEKLY WISDOM SERIES 6
A YEAR JOURNEY INTO WISDOM PATHS

“Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment (understanding)” – Proverbs 4:7 (NLT).

*WEEK 6:

There is no excuse for not atoning for any kind of sin or wrong doing.

We are more productive in our areas of callings.

God is more interested in our character and motives than what we do, and our outward appearance.

God’s presence may be denoted by His glory and fire.

Jesus’ Second Coming will be earlier than it ought for the sake of the elect.

God is not only interested in the quality of our offerings but also the way we offer them.

Being ready for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ calls for faithfully serving Him and expecting His coming at any time.

LEADERSHIP THOUGHTS SERIES 1

LEADERSHIP THOUGHTS SERIES 1
A WISE LEADER HAS A TEACHABLE SPIRIT

“A wise [man] will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels” – Proverbs 1:5 (KJV).

The primary duty of a real leader is to serve humanity, including that leader’s followers.

The greatest motivation a real leader gives to his followers is being exemplary.

The greatest asset and weapon of a real leader is that leader’s integrity.

A real leader regards problems as raw materials for creativity.

Problems are the best friends of real leaders because they are refined by them.

A leader’s level of creativity and ingenuity distinguishes that leader from other leaders.

“NOTHING WORKS WITHOUT A NETWORK”

“NOTHING WORKS WITHOUT A NETWORK?”
“Two [are] better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour” – Ecclesiastes 4:9(KJV)

I was privileged yesterday (31/01/17) to attend and participate in a Welcome Event for the 2015/2016 Ghana Chevening Scholars at the British High Commission’s premises in Accra, Ghana. The event was a success. It also created a great platform to think through ways for a vibrant and effectual Chevening network, particularly that of Ghana. One statement that has set me thinking since yesterday is “nothing works without a network”. The statement was made by Ken, one of the executives of Ghana Chevening Alumni Network. But is it true that “nothing works without a network?”

I do not know whether Ken is the originator of the statement in question. Whoever the originator may be is not important since it is immaterial to the purpose of this article, except for reference purpose. What is important is the import of the statement. Does the statement suggest that no worthwhile cause could succeed and thrive without a vibrant network? Literally speaking, the statement could at best be described as a half-truth. Why? Firstly, it is possible to achieve the objects of a good cause without a network. Almost all the great innovations and life-transforming feats throughout history were initiated by one person. Although many of them continue to thrive on the shoulders of a critical mass (network of people), others have succeeded without a network. A key example of this is the civil rights cause that was championed by the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jnr. of blessed memory. Secondary, a mere network does not guarantee success; it is an effectual network that does the job!

However, I believe the statement “nothing works without a network” bears a weightier meaning than any literal interpretation one may want to put to it. The statement resonates with Mother Theresa’s adage: individually we achieve little but together we can achieve more (paraphrased).  “Together we can Achieve More” is a true definition of Team Work. This means that an effective team can achieve more results than an individual. “Two,” according to the Bible, “[are] better than one” in terms of output.

Therefore, the statement “nothing works without a network” could also be rendered as nothing works better without than a network (team). It has been said that although it takes a person to initiate a godly cause, that cause needs a critical mass (team) to be sustained and achieve greater results. It takes a fishing-net to harvest a net-breaking fish. A fishing-net comprises individual nets tied and woven together. Team Work thus works like a fishing-net. It effectually coordinates and harness the potential of every team member. Put more elegantly, team work networks all the potential of a group of people connected to a particular cause for a greater and better output. Indeed, nothing works better without an effectual network!

WEEKLY WISDOM SERIES 5

WEEKLY WISDOM SERIES 5
A YEAR JOURNEY INTO WISDOM PATHS

“Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment (understanding)” – Proverbs 4:7 (NLT).

*WEEK 5:

Any human tradition that is at variance with God’s word is a form of transgression.

Holiness is both beautiful and glorious.

Real victory in any matter is a product of God’s favour; not by human efforts.

God wants His children to serve Him out of obedience; not out of convenience.

There is no impossibility in the ways of fasting, prayers and faith.

God always does what is right because that is the essence of His righteousness.

Although God is not obliged to answer the prayers of unbelievers (the unsaved), He responds to their faith.

WEEKLY WISDOM SERIES 4

WEEKLY WISDOM SERIES 4
A YEAR JOURNEY INTO WISDOM PATHS

“Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment (understanding)” – Proverbs 4:7 (NLT).

*WEEK 4:
God is much interested in our obedience to His word than our achievements.

You can measure the honesty of a person by asking that person to prove what he says and testing him with money.

Unbelief is the only limit to God’s mighty works in the life of a person.

Reconciliation should be initiated by an offended person because it is practically more difficult for the offender to initiate it.

Appreciating and valuing the little things we have make them tokens for miracles.

Doubts and fear makes a person fall prey to elements of nature.

Immorality is a robber of a person’s natural inheritance (might, strength, dignity and spirit of excellence).

WEEKLY WISDOM SERIES 3
A YEAR JOURNEY INTO WISDOM PATHS

“Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment (understanding)” – Proverbs 4:7 (NLT).

*WEEK 3:

Not all employers take delight in the prosperity of their workers in terms of rightfully paying the latter their rightful wages, salaries and allowances.

Jesus only testifies to the God the Father about people who testify about Him before other human beings.

A forgiving heart is always willing to reconcile with its offender.

Jesus is the only one who can give rest to the soul of a person.

Ending our lives with a great and admirable legacy is more important than the battalion of mistakes we commit in life.

Laws should not be used as a basis for preventing a person from doing what is necessary to save lives or do good to others.

The wrong decisions we make today lead us into further life crisis in future if we fail to diagnose the root cause of a repeated problem in our lives and deal with it.

*WEEK 2:

God-permitted pains prepare us to receive His untapped blessings.

The way to eternal life is a difficult one but it is worth taking that path.

God always respond to our requests at the level of our faith and by His mercies.

The best way to see what we desire to be fulfilled in the life of other people is to pray for them ceaselessly.

We must always pay attention to the questions that ring in our minds when dealing with an issue enable us ascertain the truth about it.

Long-suffering, patience and being serviceable are some of the vital character traits that are necessary for a successful marriage.

Our God-given powers over unclean spirits is demonstrable through casting them out and healing all kinds of diseases.
